Ekow Smith Asante is one of the finest Ghanaian actors who has played lots of lead roles and part of the few who started the Ghana Nigerian Collaborations.

Movie fans might not have seen loads of his movies between the period of 2012 and 2013, thinking that he has said goodbye to the acting business for another job. He told Nigeriafilms.com Rep In Ghana (Mustapha A yinde Inusah) that he will act till he dies.

Ekow Smith who is currently on Kwaw Ansah's set revealed that, there are a lot of things he has bitterly complained about some years back that is still not in the movie industry. He made mention of movie producers not paying movie stars as one of them. “I think a lot of the wrongs things we are doing in the industry haven't changed. Example, film producers haven't stopped using our services on credit. I can mention a lot of producers who owe me,” he revealed.

Talking about the current fall of sales of Ghana/Nigeria movies, he stated that he personally thinks people are tired of the same faces, the same story lines and the marketing strategies film producers are using in marketing their movies. “We need natural and good stories that have still not been told, all the stories we have around us look more adopted,” he stated.

Advising the up and coming movie stars, he said none of them should think of trying to be like someone, but rather should aspire to be like someone and aim at being more than those they aspire to be like.

Ekow who is doing his masters degree in Communications Studies at the University of Ghana whispered that, the rate at which movie stars are producing their own movies will really help the industry to also grow faster, and soon it might get to his time to also produce his own movies.
