Flood Victims Protest Abuse By Officials At Relief Camps

Flood-Victims The victims of the recent deluge that rendered many residents in delta state homeless, have spoken up against what they termed atrocities against them by the relief camp officials. According to the flood victims, they suffer from a number of  things at the hands of the officials from abandonment to fraud, issuing of fake drugs amongst other things. Many of them claimed that the camp was too crowded and that they are yet to receive any relief items from the government.
However despite the claims, there have been donations from well meaning organizations and individuals to assist the plight of these victims. In Abarikpo camp in Ahoada East Council of Rivers State, the flood victims took matters into their hands and held the State Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, (NMA) Dr. Ibitrokoemi Korubo and 20 others who were on service in the camp hostage. They said that the negligence on the part of the government has caused them to deal with matters in their own way. They called on the Federal Government to render assistance to them as there were even more people
